Wow rachel! I really like how you provided a visual instead of just talking about your covers. I think that in today's english curriculum there is too much focus on writing itself and not enough on analyzing the physical piece itself. Yes, imagery is a powerful tool but it is never as clear as having an actual copy of the cover. Excellent creativity!!
Rachel your book cover comparison is so insightful for the difference of how book of negroes is a raw image of a head on shot were as Mrs. Lincoln's dressmaker is very hidden and made to look pretty. These covers give so much tone to the how the books will be seeing book of negroes straight up compared to the hidden secret insight of the dressmaker. Thank you for sharing I think I might even read the novel now it seems so interesting!!!
